Above, on a Saturday hood hike with a local health care provider, we came upon a man from Cuba who came to the United States in 1980 and has been homeless most of the last 35+ years. He is now housed in a home with two other Servants Center clients. The landlord of the house took a chance on SC knowing that we work with a difficult population. However, time and time again has shown us that housing is one of the most important pieces in helping someone with mental illness remain stable and greatly improve their quality of life.
